Exemption granted to retailers and end-users of self-luminous timepieces that contain gaseous tritium light sources

In exercise of powers conferred by section 15(1) of the Radiation Ordinance, the Radiation Board has granted exemption to retailers and end-users of self-luminous timepieces that contain gaseous tritium light sources from the requirements of the Ordinance provided that:

  1. The total activity of gaseous tritium in each timepiece shall not exceed one gigabecquerel; and
  2. The total activity of gaseous tritium in all timepieces in the possession of any retailer and end-user shall not exceed one thousand gigabecquerel per premises.
